Whether she's desperately begging for treats, or kicking out as her girth is tightened, it's very important for her handlers to keep their eyes open when around Vera. On her good days, she is a pleasure to be around, even with her mischievous attitude. She is eager to work and can be handled with no issues. However, when she gets upset, all Hell breaks loose. Vera only runs when she decides to run. Catch her on a bad day, and she won't budge. If she doesn't want to get in the gate, you're screwed. But when she's ready and motivated, she can overtake nearly any other horse. After a smooth and efficient break, Vera slides up to the front of the pack, fighting for a solid spot for herself before allowing herself to slip back just a bit. She hangs just behind the leaders for the majority of the race, taunting them and threatening to take their place. Along the backstretch, Vera explodes, sprinting past the leaders and into first place.
